Saint Mary School and Parish worked together to collect and donate 141 coats for men, women and children in need of warmth. The coats were donated by families in the Saint Mary community in support of the fifth grade outreach project and Parish November coat drive.
“There is a real need for coats in our local community, and Sacred Heart’s program made it easy for us to make a difference and spread much needed warmth for the upcoming winter months. We had a goal of collecting 100 coats, and we surpassed our goal,” said fifth grade teacher Erika Freitas.
Sacred Heart’s “vision is a community united to ensure that every child and adult is free from poverty.” One of the many programs that Sacred Heart offers is the Clothes Closet where families can shop twice a month to receive 5 high quality articles of clothing, per person, for free.
