On April 27, 368 Saint John Vianney (SJV) Catholic School students participated in the Jump Rope for Hearts Campaign benefiting the American Heart Association. Organized and implemented by Ms. Tessa Isola, SJV’s P.E. teacher, the students jumped their way to donations in the amount of $7,546. The students participating in the campaign challenged themselves to 25 minutes of continuous movement. While most jumped rope, some students played basketball. All finished exhausted and proud of their accomplishment.
In preparation for the big day, students learned the importance of physical activity and a well-balanced diet for a healthy heart. They also learned that heart conditions affect people of all ages. Based on the amazing response to this campaign, it is clear that the American Heart Association’s work toward the prevention and treatment of heart disease resonated with both the students and their families. The students even dedicated their efforts to loved ones dealing with heart issues. SJV is blessed to have such enthusiastic and supportive families who live their calling to service.
