On June 25, supporters from all over the Bay Area will “get on the green”to support the Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County 34th Annual “Play With A Purpose” Golf Tournament. The tournament returns for a second year to the beautiful and private Almaden Golf & Country Club, located in the heart of the Almaden Valley of San Jose. Chairperson Drew Haaser of Marsh Risk & Insurance Services says, “This golf tournament is one of the longest standing and most successful tournaments in the valley. We raise over $250,000 annually to directly support the essential work Catholic Charities does to help the poor in our County.”

This year’s “fund-a-need” within the tournament will raise much needed support in the area of housing. “The Silicon Valley housing crisis has forced too many families to live in shared apartments, converted garages, or even their cars. This is not home,” says Chief Executive Officer Greg Kepferle. Catholic Charities’ housing programs provide support for families and individuals facing housing instability or homelessness, be it through housing placement for flood survivors, to individual case management, to supportive services offered at their many Charities Housing sites.
