A tradition that has been with Holy Family School is the seventh grader’s presentation of the Stations of the Cross on Holy Thursday.
At 10 a.m. on Holy Thursday morning, silence fell over Holy Family School. As the beat of drums sounded across the school’s campus, students, faculty and staff walked in silence to the church.
The service began and as each station was reenacted by the students, the most dramatic of the scenes are paused. A student representative explained each station and continued with how Jesus endured suffering, moments of support and sacrifice; and explained the relevance of how Jesus’ experience can be a reflection in our everyday life, in the current world and in the community.
The conclusion of the Stations brought a calm, yet a somber feeling of togetherness in the church. As the students walked back to their classes in silence, they were able to reflect on the stages of Christ’s passion and death.
