Saint Leo the Great Parish Welcomes New Pastor

Father Enzie addresses the congregation after taking his pledge as Pastor.

On October 29, after just over a decade of being served by the Institute of the Incarnate Word (IVE), Saint Leo the Great Parish welcomed a diocesan priest as its new pastor. Bishop McGrath installed Father Enzie Lagattuta as the parish’s 16th Pastor.

The parish is 102 years old, with a great legacy in the Saint Leo Neighborhood in San Jose. After the Installation Mass, Bishop McGrath kindly blessed the new Saint Leo the Great mosaic. The mosaic is made of tiles that were hand-placed by a local artist.

Sponsors donated to the mosaic, which now sits as an icon between the entrance of the parish and school. Father Enzie knew how hard his predecessor, the parish, and school worked to raise enough funds for the mosaic that Father Enzie wanted his special day to be paralleled with a special day for the community as a whole.
