First and third grade students at Saint Clare School worked together on a service project collecting items for the Diocesan Layette Program. The items collected included diapers, wipes, clothing, socks, blankets and other items essential to newborn babies. These items were then given to mothers in need. Students then wrote reflections on how their actions impacted the lives of new mothers and their babies.
The collection was a huge success and we gathered more than 20 large boxes of items!
Eighth grade students organized a winter clothing drive for the families of the San Jose Family Shelter. For this service opportunity, the eighth graders reached out to students, families, and parishioners to donate warm clothing, such as coats, gloves, mittens, socks, hats, and scarves.
This ten-day winter clothing drive re-enforced the students’ commitment to serving others while developing a deeper understanding of our Catholic Social Teachings.
