Sister Dolorice Ramirez, OP, was born on Jan. 5, 1928, in San Antonio, Texas to Zaragosa Ramirez and Elisa Stone Ramirez. She made her profession with the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose on Aug. 30, 1947, and from 1950 until 1969 served in domestic work and child care. For the next 21 years Sister was a much beloved elementary school teacher serving in both the Bay Area and Los Angeles. Sister continued as an instructional assistant and bookkeeper until her assignment in 2016 to Saint Martin’s Residence at the Motherhouse. After a brief illness she died peacefully on Nov. 8, 2017.
