Holy Family School’s Newly Renovated Gym

Students from Holy Family School join parent Tami Paez, former principals Gail Harrell and Bridgit McGarry, along with Pastor Father Andrew Nguyen, for the ribbon cutting ceremony of the school’s newly renovated gym.

“Go Bears!” The chant will be roaring across the new Holy Family School (HFS) gym floors. On August 18, the Holy Family Community came together to reveal the HFS gym. This project came together as a result of the dedication and involvement of so many people.

The Vision. Former Principal, Gail Harrell was a part of Holy Family School for 17 years. In the latter half of her years at HFS, her vision for the gym was a dream. With the help of a veteran parent, Tami Paez, her vision soon became a reality when fundraising for the gym started.

The Implementation. As we reached our fundraising goal, Mrs. Harrell’s visions for the gym were implemented by her successor, Bridgit McGarry. Plans for the gym were on its way with the help of many people, including all the donors, Mrs. Paez, Coach Hashimoto, Mrs. Bejar and Mr. Richard. Construction for the new floors, fresh paint, bleachers and the expanded floor space were completed this summer.

The Reveal. With the support of our current principal, Maeve Hannon, HFS revealed a newly renovated gym. In attendance were countless parents, grandparents, alumni, parishioners, our Pastor and all of our students and staff. Once the ribbon was cut, there were eager cheers and excitement to get a first look of a familiar place.

As we begin the new academic year, our students feel very blessed to have a new gym. There are definitely some enthusiastic students attending their first PE class.
