This year we were given the opportunity to do a service project, and my class chose to raise money for the Humane Society. As a class, we came up with the idea of hosting a middle school dance, and we invited students from other Catholic schools. The theme for the dance was a “Lights Out Dance Party.” Everyone in my class donated food, drinks, and decorations. We raised over $1,300 for the animal shelter! We also brought over 35 items that the shelter uses daily such as towels, blankets, and food. Then, we took a field trip over to the Humane Society, and we were taken on a tour of their facility. We even got to meet one of their dogs named Reno. My class and I are glad that we got the chance help the local animals in need.
