Science and art do not often see academic integration. However, at Saint Clare School, Santa Clara, the Science and Art programs joined forces to deliver a rich cross-curricular event for the community on March 14-16.
All students in grades six, seven, and eight created science projects demonstrating the scientific method. Students in kindergarten through fifth grades were also encouraged to enter the Science Faire by exploring their own ways of understanding different scientific principles.
This year, there were more entries from the younger grades than ever before, including a display from our competitive robotics teams. Surrounding the many displays of scientific experimentation was the Art Show, displaying two and three-dimensional artwork from students of every grade at Saint Clare.
The artwork captured the expression of the elements of art and the principles of design according to each grade’s skill level.
With hundreds of creative ventures exhibited, the community buzzed with excitement and awe at the work of their blooming scientists and artists.
