On February 12, the Saint Lawrence Elementary and Middle School Pre-K Class was treated to a unique and exciting experience as all of their classmates and their families joined the San Jose Barracuda for a thrilling home game at the SAP Center.
As the local American Hockey League team, the San Jose Barracuda work hard to stay extremely involved in the community and engage the youth of Silicon Valley.
In January, Frenzy, the Barracuda mascot, visited Saint Lawrence Elementary and Middle School to teach Pre-K students hockey drills and the importance of good sportsmanship. As a part of the Barracuda community involvement, the entire Pre-K Class and their families were invited to the SAP Center for a home game complete with a special experience with the players. Section 128 was filled with bright orange Barracuda hats and smiling Pre-K faces as many watched their first professional sporting event. At the end of the first period, the students were led to the player tunnel and gave high-fives to each of the hockey superstars right before they skated off to prepare for the start of the second period.
