Saint Clare Students Participate in a Variety of Advent Outreach Programs

During the months of November and December, students from Transitional Kindergarten through Eighth Grade participated in a variety of Advent outreach programs, such as Saint Justin’s Community Project Angel. The program involved collecting new (or gently used) dressy clothing for children and donating prescription eyeglasses to help Saint Lucy’s School with their Lions Club collection.

Saint Clare School families and alumni donated food to our annual Thanksgiving baskets for families in need and organized a children’s book collection for the Saint Vincent de Paul Society at our Parish.

The First Grade Class spearheaded the school’s yearly collection for the Diocesan Layette Program, which “serves new and needy mothers by providing them with a fitting wardrobe for their newborn child.”

The Second Grade Class led the school community in Project Warm, which provided hats, gloves, scarves, and socks for homeless families from the San Jose Family Shelter.

The Seventh Grade Class adopted a family for Christmas. The four children in the family welcomed Christmas Day with gifts of food and school supplies.

In addition to sharing goodwill to those in our community, near and far, the Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students created cards and holiday decorations to distribute to the shut-ins of Saint Clare Parish.
