Celebrating the Gift of Grandparents at Saint John the Baptist

Clarita Lobyoc honored for her excellent service to Saint John’s community.

Grandparents & Special Persons Day is one those special days Saint John’s School celebrates during Thanksgiving. The celebration began as grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents, and previous staff members were welcomed by student council members.

Guests had the opportunity to visit the classrooms and participate in planned activities followed by hospitality where guests sat with their grandchild and enjoyed some yummy treats.

Thanksgiving Mass was presided over by Father Eddie Obero. A special blessing for grandparents and special gifts were presented by students.

Clarita Lobyoc (Extended Care staff) was also acknowledged and honored this year for the excellent care and service she provides daily to our students. She is also an active member of our parish serving as a Eucharistic Minister, minister to the homebound, and volunteer in the parish bingo. A special singing performance was presented by the Kindergarten students and a finale song (with the guidance of the Augustinian Recollect Sisters) was performed by the entire student body where a few tears were shed and love was felt by many.
