Back to School by the Numbers at Holy Spirit School

What did you do on your summer vacation?

At Holy Spirit School, 567 iPads were configured and loaded with apps, parent ambassadors hosted four park play-dates for Pre-K and Kindergarten students, and 51 new families shared 178 scoops of ice cream with their Welcome Buddies on a hot August afternoon. Our teachers prepped and decorated 22 classrooms, planned 27 field trips and labeled countless workbooks. We welcomed six new teachers, a new co-principal, Bob Graves, and a new assistant principal, Colette O’Bannion. Parent volunteers sorted and delivered 284 school supply kits and the Dad’s Club hosted a successful Back-to-School picnic complete with dunk tank and pie eating contest.

So that by the time the first bell rang on the first day of this new school year, we were ready to go!

At the first weekly school Mass, students joined their new buddies and quietly extended their hands in blessing for their teachers. We welcome all our families as we live this year’s school theme of “Walking in the Presence of the Lord.”
