The Archbishop Mitty High School Speech and Debate Team won top honors at the California High School Speech Association State Championship Tournament held April 16-17 at Mission College. The team was awarded the coveted first place sweepstakes prize out of 300+ schools. This is Archbishop Mitty’s first sweepstakes win in the program’s five year history. Individual honors went to sophomore Amelia Whitney who took first place in Thematic Interpretation and freshman Connor Sherry who was awarded first place in Humorous Interpretation.
