The teachers at Holy Family School were blessed to have Greg Brown, a retired engineer and Resource Area For Teaching (RAFT) employee, come out to the school. He conducted two Next Generation Science Standards professional development days. The “students” were enthralled to be making rolling objects showing gravity and resistance as well as problem solving. They played with paint as a science experiment and learned about populations by looking at red and black plastic discs.
It was a great opportunity for the teachers; better yet, it was a wonderful opportunity for the students because each teacher took immediate usable projects and experiments to do with their students back to the classrooms.
Plus, the teachers now have RAFT memberships!
