Those Who Serve are Grateful. The amount collected in our Diocese for the Retirement Fund for Religious is $215,353.69.
What a generous gift that acknowledges the service rendered by Religious, past and present!
Thank you! These retired men and women transition from active or part-time ministry, to full-time ministry of prayer. In this way they continue to serve the church in a very meaningful way.
Pope Francis recognizes the need to continue this form of service and has asked us to pray for vocations to the vowed life. He has designated April 17, Good Shepherd Sunday, as a World Day of Prayer. The purpose of this day is to publically fulfill the Lord’s instruction, “Pray the Lord of the harvest, to send laborers to his harvest” (Mt 9:38; Lk10:2). So please pray that young men and women hear and respond generously to the call to service in the church in all of its forms. Together, we partner with the people of God, our mission is the same, yet expressed in unique ways as God is pleased to invite us.
