The students of Saint Christopher’s fourth grade participated in an interactive California program called, “Walking Through California History” on February 22. In this program, students are given a role to play in California history that they prepare in advance. Some students are gold miners and Native Americans; some students play other significant roles to California history like the El Camino Real and the San Andreas Fault. During the three-hour program, students get to dress up as their role and say how they influenced California history. It is a fun event with team points and various victory dances! No matter what the score, everyone walks away knowing a little more California history than when they entered and that’s a winning combination.
