Students at Saint Catherine School are clamoring for increasingly advanced tech knowledge and experience. As a result, a series of classes are being offered during the school year and over the summer. In addition to all classes participating in the Hour of Code in December, coding is continuing in all grades. Several classes, including kindergarten and first grade, have enjoyed additional coding activities as part of their STEM activities.
Afterschool robotics and coding classes are also available for students in grades 2-8. Younger students use Lego Wedo kits to build and program a variety of gadgets. Older and more advanced students are using Arduino and C++ for their models. Students report that they love learning coding skills, especially in connection to robotics and game design.
