Saint Lucy School was proud to honor more than 300 Grandparents and grandfriends with a Grandparents and Grandfriends Day celebration as a conclusion to Catholic School’s Week 2016.
The guests were treated to a continental breakfast in the school gym followed by prayers led by the Pre-K class, a musical and dance performance by the school choir, and a greeting from Principal Sue Grover. Grover thanked them for the gift of love that only a grandparent or grandfriend can give. She also spoke of the school’s theme for the year, “Let Your Light Shine” and how our grandparents and grandfriends brighten our students’ lives with their love and support.
The guests toured the school with their special students, exploring all learning spaces such as the science lab, TD Mac computer lab, and the library. They also stopped by the photo station for a quick picture to commemorate the day. The morning ended with a celebration of Mass with a student-led liturgy and music presented by the school choir. “Blessed are those who snuggle and hug, spoil and pamper, boast and brag, for they shall be called Grandparents/Grandfriends.”
