In the spirit of Christmas, Saint Nicholas’ first and fifth grade class led the Annual Holiday Toy Drive. Students in TK through eighth grade donated over 350 toys, which all went toward Sacred Heart Community Center, dedicated to bringing our community together to address poverty in Silicon Valley.
While at Sacred Heart, students got to experience the true sense of giving at Christmas as they spent time working on the “clothes closet,” sorting and hanging clothes for those in need, as well as sorting and bagging food items in the food pantry. “I imagined not having any toys for Christmas, so I wanted to get toys for boys and girls to make them feel happy,” said a fifth grade student. Another student said, “I wanted to give back because not everyone is able to get things for Christmas.”
Students at Saint Nicholas School look forward to opportunities to give back to their community and understand that Christmas is a time of giving. We are extremely proud of our students and look forward to the next opportunity to give back to our community.
