July 20-22 marked the 3rd Annual Young Adult Camping Trip hosted by the Saint Martin of Tours Young Adult (SMYA) ministry.
Each year SMYA has about 30 young adults come together to share a weekend of fellowship and fun in the woods. This year, they pitched their tents in Huddart Park in Woodside, CA. Most of the young adults arrive Friday after work and stay through Sunday check-out, but the SMYA also offers a Saturday-only option for those who can’t commit to a full weekend or who prefer not to sleep in a tent. Although they have chosen a new location each year (Mt. Madonna-2016, Sanborn-2017), the schedule remains pretty much the same with Praise and Worship, games and s’mores in the evenings and Mass Saturday morning followed by a hike through the park trails.
The group was blessed this year to have Saint Martin of Tour’s new parish pastor Father Saju join them on Saturday to say the Mass and have lunch with them.
It was another great camping trip, full of meeting new people, deepening friendships, relaxing in God’s beautiful nature and eating lots of food. Saint Martin of Tours Young Adults welcomes all young adults across the diocese to join them next year on their camping trip in July of 2019.
