The students at Saint Lawrence Elementary and Middle School were invited to put their writing skills to the test, preparing for the opportunity to join The Diocesan Young Authors Book Festival. Led by middle school language arts teacher, Mrs. Delumpa, the students were encouraged to express themselves through different forms of writing such as mythology, haiku, and vignettes. The excitement of writing was vibrant throughout campus, as students worked on their pieces. Select students were invited to present and represent Saint Lawrence Elementary and Middle School at Saint Victor’s on March 17.
These 12 Young Author’s Presenting their work were third grader Sophia Reiblien, sixth graders Patrick Finnan, Celestial Thomchick and Teagan Wholley, seventh graders Amara Fernandes, Kevin Kou, Jasmine Quach and Derek Wieber and eighth graders Jonathan Cabael, Noura Sajedi, Allison Sousa and Devon Gibb, who also received the Principal’s Pick Award.
Mrs. Gremett, Vice Principal of Saint Lawrence, attended the Young Author’s Festival and when asked about her experience said, “it was rewarding to see our students poised on stage, looking confident and proud of their written work! I am so proud that Saint Lawrence was represented so well at the event.”
