Under cloudy, gray skies, the Saint Christopher middle schoolers gathered on March 14 to participate in the National Walkout to protest gun violence in our nation’s schools.
For 17 minutes, the students, joined by members of the faculty and parish staff, recited the Rosary. Each prayer of the Rosary was led by a different student from sixth, seventh and eighth grade.
United in solidarity with more than 2,000 other schools across the United States, the middle schoolers voiced their hope that young people could become the agents for peace and positive change in our world. Their presence was a poignant statement of support for Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, as well as a testament to the power of prayer.
