Victor Salas Retires from Saint Martin of Tours School after 45 years of service.

We believe. We achieve. We roar.

These six words summarize the mission of Saint Martin of Tours School – to send forth into the world students with a deep seeded relationship with God, a passion for learning and striving to do their best, and a willingness to lead and serve those around them.

As class after class graduated on from Saint Martin, one constant has remained the same for the past 45 years: Victor Salas, the school custodian. Mr. Salas has served as a model of the school’s mission during his tenure, but the time has come for him to retire. During a community-wide celebration, students and staff shared countless memories of a man who radiates a love of God and his community. Whether he is helping an injured student to the office, assisting a teacher with a classroom project, or retrieving countless balls from the roof, Mr. Salas always models how to serve others selflessly. Part of his retirement celebration included songs, poems, videos, prayers, hand-made gifts from each class and a breakfast which drew alumni, parents, and past faculty members. Saint Martin of Tours School will miss Mr. Salas, but his strong faith, hard-working spirit, and positive attitude will live on in each student as they grow to embody the school’s mission.
