Halloween candy was overflowing in the lobby of Saint Catherine of Alexandria School from donations to Treats for Troops! This is a fun event under the direction of Operation Care and Comfort (OCC), a San Jose-based Military Charity, in which students donated their leftover Halloween candy to send to the deployed troops overseas.

Donations were collected for one week leading up to Halloween and one week after. It was a great way for students and parents to support our troops and get “rid” of the extra candy.

The first and seventh grade buddy classes worked together to sort and bag individual servings. The school donated a total of 325 pounds of candy. Last year, the OCC collected approximately 10,000 pounds of candy from various schools throughout the area.
