The Serra Club of Santa Clara hosted more than 120 altar servers and their families at Saint Lawrence the Martyr Church on August 27.

This annual event thanks altar servers for their support at Masses and special events. Altar servers were invited from Our Lady of Peace, Queen of Apostles, Saint Clare, Saint Frances Cabrini, Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Lawrence the Martyr, Saint Lucy, Saint Martin of Tours, and Saint Victor. These parishes are actively supported by the Serra Club of Santa Clara as designated by Bishop Patrick J. McGrath.

The altar servers and their families enjoyed the pools and the BBQ dinner as a thank you for their services. A special thank-you was given to the parents for their support. The Serra Club recognizes altar servers throughout the year with altar server breakfasts, server certificates, annual SJ Giants baseball game and the annual BBQ/swim party.

The Serra Club fosters, supports, and affirms vocations to the Catholic priesthood and to religious life. Our Santa Clara Club is the only club in the South Bay that provides an elementary school vocations program that includes a Breakfast and Vocations Awareness program. These Awareness programs are tailored for 6-8 grades.
