“Don’t mess with success.”
That phrase could be used to describe the Diocese of San Jose’s approach to its “The Light Is On For You” campaign, now in its third year.
“I am pleased that our parishes are coming together for a third year for The Light Is On for You,” said Bishop Patrick J. McGrath.
“The increased availability of the Sacrament of Reconciliation throughout the Diocese is a visible sign of the mercy and love that God extends to all.”
The campaign focuses on the Sacrament of Reconciliation, also known as Confession. It is held on Wednesdays, from 6-8 p.m., in all 54 parishes from March 8 – April 12 in preparation for Easter on April 16.
In the first two years of the campaign, The Light Is On For You has reached an estimated 7,500 people on Wednesdays.
“Our personal Lenten observance is strengthened by our common practices, including Reconciliation,” said the Bishop. “I pray that these weeks of the Paschal Season give us all the opportunity to celebrate ‘the acceptable time, the day of salvation’ (cf. 2 Cor 6:2) that the Lord offers to each of us.”
