Young adults camping at Mt. Madonna Park, Watsonville.

The Young Adult Ministry of Saint Martin of Tours Parish, organized their first annual camping trip at Mt. Madonna Park, Watsonville. Around 30 young adults came together for a weekend of tent camping, hiking, prayer and fellowship out in God’s beautiful nature.

It was a time to leave the stress and worries of our daily grind and spend time with friends and to truly appreciate the blessings God has given us.

The first evening had everyone busy setting up tents, meeting and getting to know each other. After dinner we sang around the bonfire and played games. All participants received a Saint Martin’s Young Adult T-shirt.

On Saturday, the group went for a small hike and then had Mass on the trail. After we got back to the campsite and had lunch, some of us went on a longer hike through the Redwoods. The rest of us stayed at the campsite playing games and preparing a BBQ dinner. After dinner we had Praise and Worship and of course S’mores!

Sunday was spent cleaning up, packing, and playing games. The campers all had a great time with new friendships formed and old ones strengthened. Each one of us left the campsite re-energized by God’s love for us through the support and fellowship of fellow Young Adults who share the same faith journey.

Saint Martin’s Young Adult Ministry has a wide variety of events throughout the year such as discussion nights, tennis meet-ups, movie nights, etc. For more information about our upcoming events or to sign up to receive emails about our events, contact the group at faith@smyoungadults.com, visit  www.smyoungadults.com or Facebook group, Saint Martin of Tours Young Adults.
