Presentation High School’s fashion show started 50 years ago as a fun idea to showcase a young woman’s ability to sew. A lot has changed since then, and thanks to the tireless work of nearly 100 volunteers and dedicated sponsors, the Presentation fashion show now resembles a New York runway production.

On April 22, more than 1,000 attendees enjoyed Presentation & Co., the school’s annual fashion show fundraiser at the Santa Clara Convention Center. The show featured 14 original creations by student designers, the Presentation High School National Champion Dance Team, graduating Presentation seniors and alumnae.

To honor the 50th anniversary, 26 past fashion show chairs walked the runway wearing sashes honoring their fashion show year. The models wore spring fashions from local San Jose boutiques, such as Bella James and Ibiss, and national stores, including Free People, which was honored for five years of participation in the Presentation Fashion Show.

The event is a fundraiser for the Presentation High School Endowment for Financial Aid.
