On March 24, the young adults from Saint Martin of Tours Parish organized a “Seven Churches Visitation” to celebrate Holy Thursday. The original practice, also known as “Visita Iglesia”, originated in Rome where pilgrims would visit seven basilicas for penance prior to the Easter celebration. This year, young adults re-lived this tradition by traveling between seven locations including Saint Martin of Tours, Saint Justin’s, Saint Clare’s, Mission Santa Clara, Saint Leo the Great, Our Lady of La Vang, and Saint Joseph’s Cathedral for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. The experience brought many to a deeper appreciation of Holy Week as it was being celebrated throughout the churches of San Jose.
