Catholic Schools Week provided a wonderful opportunity for Saint Justin School to showcase how its students excel at both the arts and sciences.
Science Fair projects were proudly displayed in the gymnasium, highlighting the students’ understanding of the scientific method and demonstrating their knowledge of physics, chemistry, life science, and earth science. Furthermore, the Robotics Team demonstrated their programming prowess as their robot moved back and forth, made its flag spin, and differentiated between blue and white. Visitors also had the opportunity to visit Saint Justin’s “living classroom,” the on-campus garden that not only provides a real-life setting where students can use the science process skills of observing, measuring, sorting/classifying, inferring, predicting, experimenting, and communicating but also supplies food for the less fortunate.
Saint Justin’s visual and performing arts programs were also highlighted throughout the day. Artwork from the Art Vista program hung proudly on the walls of the gymnasium. The school choir and band performed on stage including songs that they sing at Mass each week, as well as one they are preparing for the Chorale Festival in April. The cast of this year’s theater production, Aladdin, entertained the crowd with several song and dance numbers.
