One of the highlights of the year for Saint Christopher School seventh graders is the Interfaith Exchange Program with the Hausner Jewish Day School in Palo Alto.

On December 10, 2015, Saint Christopher School welcomed seventh graders from Hausner to spend a day discovering shared faith traditions. Students from Saint Christopher explained some of our winter holidays, including All Saints and All Souls Day, Advent, Christmas, the Nativity, Saint Nicholas/Santa Claus, and ritual objects, such as rosaries, medals and statues of saints, baptism gowns, candles, and more.

The students from Hausner also explain some of their fall and winter holidays – Yom Kippur and Channukah and enacted various Old Testament stories relating the history of the Jewish people. The day ended with a gathering of all of the students in the church for a question-and-answer period with Pastor Christopher Bennett, and a visit from Saint Nicholas!
The students look forward to meeting up again in the spring, when Hausner will host Saint Christopher students for faith sharing centered on the celebrations of Passover and Easter.
