Saint Martin of Tours School student council hosted the first Bengal Blowout of the year.

The laughter, shouts and cheers could be heard around the corner as Saint Martin of Tours School Student Council hosted the first Bengal Blowout of the year. Students outfitted in their orange PEP Club Tiger T-shirts poured into the gym in a rush of spirited enthusiasm as they prepared to wow the judges with their participation in games and cheers. This annual tradition is a fantastic way for students to show their creativity in class cheers as well as support fellow students.
Students spend the week rehearsing cheers and prepping for games, all part of a friendly competition. Cheers are evaluated based on creativity, class participation, and school spirit/enthusiasm. Grades K-4th are competing for the “mini” spirit stick while Grades 5th-8th are competing for the coveted “big” spirit stick.
The student council takes ownership of the event by assigning jobs, evaluating rules, coordinating dress rehearsals, and hosting the actual event.
